Technical Engineering Documentation Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Engineering Documentation Specialist to join our team at Ocado Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation for our electro-mechanical systems, including operation and maintenance manuals, component maintenance manuals, install manuals, and troubleshooting guides.

Our team is working on developing the hardware behind our Robotic Pick system, and we need someone with a strong background in technical writing and mechanical experience to help us achieve our goals. You will work closely with our engineering team to understand the technical requirements of our systems and create documentation that is clear, concise, and easy to follow.

As a Technical Engineering Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Creating technical documentation for electro-mechanical systems, including operation and maintenance manuals, component maintenance manuals, install manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Liaising with our engineering team to understand the technical requirements of our systems.
  • Developing documentation that is clear, concise, and easy to follow.
  • Validating the written manuals by personally executing the procedures on the intended automation equipment.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with:
  • Proven technical writing experience for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Professional or otherwise-gained mechanical experience, including the use of hand tools.
  • The ability to write clear, concise, and easy-to-follow documentation.
  • Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products.
