Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join our Therapy team on the new Critical care unit at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide respiratory physiotherapy services to critically unwell patients on the unit, working as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • To participate in the Trust Respiratory Physiotherapy On-call rota and contribute to the development of the service.
  • To deputize for the Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team and participate in training within the Department.
RequirementsEssential Qualifications and Experience
  • A degree in Physiotherapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • A minimum of 18 months' experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist in a range of rotations, including Critical Care/Acute Respiratory.
  • Experience of participating in a respiratory physiotherapy on-call service.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in a similar role at Band 6 level.
  • Clinical educator experience.
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Evidence of well-developed respiratory physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to prioritize and delegate a clinical caseload, apply clinical reasoning in the management of critically ill patients, and supervise junior staff or students.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week. The salary for this role is approximately £42,000 - £48,599 per annum, depending on experience. The hospital offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
