Plumber

We are seeking a skilled plumber to join our Estates Operations and Maintenance team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for undertaking planned maintenance, installation, alteration, and repair work across various building types and technologies.
You will work as part of a motivated self-managed team, providing essential support to a diverse community of staff, students, and the general public. We offer a range of benefits, including a competitive salary, 38 days annual leave, generous pension benefits, and access to discounts and services.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake planned maintenance, installation, alteration, and repair work across various building types and technologies
- Work as part of a motivated self-managed team to provide essential support to a diverse community of staff, students, and the general public
- Ensure continuity of service during periods of high demand, working flexibly to meet changing needs or circumstances
- Participate in an on-call rota team covering business-critical issues out of hours and at weekends, with overtime paid in addition to the call-out allowance for attendance on site
- Craft trade apprentice, trained to City and Guilds Level in the core trade or equivalent qualifications or experience
- Full UK Driving licence
- Current in-date domestic gas safe qualification
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures, for example COSHH and risk assessment
- Extensive experience of health and safety risk management techniques applicable to an estates function
- Ability to assess non-routine problems by suggesting solutions
- Flexible approach to workload and hours to meet changing needs or circumstances
