About the Job

We are seeking a Language Assessment and Referral Specialist to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. This role involves assessing clients' language skills, referring them to suitable programs, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities
  • Screen clients' immigration status eligibility for placement in IRCC and MLTSD-funded language training.
  • Administer Canadian Language Benchmarks assessment tools according to principles outlined in the initial training and according to the YMCA, IRCC, and MLTSD policies and standards.
  • Refer clients to the most appropriate language-training providers based on Canadian Language Benchmarks, the national placement grid, and individual client needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching ESL to adults, certification on the CLBPT or other assessment tools, and strong interpersonal skills.

Benefits

This is a part-time position requiring 30 hours/week, including weekends and evening shifts. The estimated salary for this role is $25-35 per hour, depending on experience.
