About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Transition Mentor to join our team at Quarriers, supporting young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. As a Transition Mentor, you will work with young people aged 16-25, providing housing support, mentoring, and guidance to help them achieve their goals and ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with young people in their daily lives, providing support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with young people, understanding their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Provide advice and support related to employment, education, and social community integration.
  • Work within a community outreach service, visiting young people individually across South Ayrshire, and be willing to travel as required.
  • Manage your own time, balancing home-based work and community outreach, depending on service needs.
Requirements
  • Compassion, kindness, and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and the ability to apply transferable life experience and skills to support individuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, driven by positive outcomes.
  • Resilience, reliability, and excellent listening skills.
  • Good IT and communication skills.
  • Proactive and skilled in building strong, lasting relationships.
  • A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential.
