Behaviour Support Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support to work in schools across Chesterfield, providing support to students facing behavioural challenges.

As a Behaviour Support, you will aim to create a positive learning environment, implementing strategies and interventions to support students in developing essential skills such as emotional regulation, social interactions, and appropriate behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to prepare lessons tailored to various key stages, assisting students in line with the curriculum and syllabus.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students, ensuring they receive the guidance needed to excel in their studies.
  • Work closely with students who have SEND, SEN, ADHD, SEMH, and behavioural needs, helping them integrate into the classroom and develop essential skills.
  • Assist in classroom behaviour management, providing support that promotes positive outcomes for all students.
  • Monitor and assess students' behaviour, providing feedback to teachers, parents, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Education or other relevant degree.
  • Previous experience as a Behaviour Support or in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and experience working with students at different key stages.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students succeed.
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
