Forensic Healthcare Specialist

At Partnering Health Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Healthcare Professional to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of detained persons held in police custody.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Assessments and Interventions: Conduct thorough clinical assessments to identify and address the health needs of detained persons, including collecting forensic samples and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Advice and Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance to Custody Officers and other stakeholders on healthcare matters, ensuring the effective care pathway for detained persons.
- Forensic Sampling and Determination: Conduct forensic sampling and determine an individual's fitness to be detained, fitness to be released, fitness to be interviewed, and competence to understand charge.
- Alcohol and Drug Intoxication: Assess and manage alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal, including retrieving blood samples under the Road Traffic Act.
- Record Keeping and Data Collection: Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records of work carried out, including the recording of injuries, and participate in the collection of data for service audits and continuous service improvement.
- Professional Development: Maintain professional development through training and experience, adhering to the NMC code of conduct and promoting the role of nurses in the custody setting.
