We are seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team at our brand-new Heathfield depot.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and motivate the transport team to ensure maximum performance in terms of commercial contract efficiency, profit, and client service levels.
  2. Plan and organize the activities of the Transport Operation, including the transition between customers' peak and off-peak activity periods.
  3. Provide leadership on day-to-day transport issues, including dispatch debriefs with drivers, vehicles, and work-in.
  4. Check freight into the depot and scan onto vehicles.
  5. Work closely with customers to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
  6. Manage and de-brief drivers.
  7. Maximize the use of resources within the operation by utilizing assets to the full and planning ahead.
  8. Provide regular reports to the Transport Manager on customer-related and other relevant matters, making recommendations where relevant.
  9. Monitor and audit Health and Safety.
  10. Answer queries via email, phone, and face-to-face.
  11. Assist in producing KPIs and daily statistics.
  12. Assist with compliance planning in line with company procedure.
  13. Direct assistance and support for breakdowns.
  14. Promote and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and offer support and assistance as a team member.
Requirements
  • Previous administration experience working within the Transport and Logistics industry.
  • Knowledge of Manpack traffic system is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Excellent organizational skills and prioritizing workload.
  • Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Computer literate.
  • MS packages to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
