Job Title: Control and Instrumentation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our expanding team at EFAB Resourcing Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute control and instrumentation engineering activities within defined boundaries, ensuring compliance with company authority limits and discipline lead delegations.
  • Undertake design and engineering deliverables, including calculations, risk assessments, sketches, and MTOs, in a safe and productive manner.
  • Deliver projects and packages on time, meeting contract specifications, achieving client satisfaction, and meeting quality and commercial KPIs.
  • Demonstrate full understanding and adherence to relevant engineering procedures, policies, and standards, and their practical application.
Accountabilities:
  • Influencing others, negotiating, decision-making, and communication.
  • Instrument datasheets, block cable diagrams, cable routing drawings.
  • Equipment layout drawings, hook-up, loop diagrams, termination diagrams.
  • Cable schedules, I/O schedules, including hard and soft I/O.
  • Instrument schedules, material take-off.
  • Auto CAD - geometry, setup, borders, layers, etc.
  • Field instrument selection.
  • Material selection.
  • Site surveys, team building.
  • Coaching and mentoring, managing performance.
  • Motivating and inspiring.
  • SIL verification to BS EB 61508 BS EN 61511.
  • Thermowell design and wake calculations.
  • P&ID development.
  • Hazardous area classification and DSEAR.
  • Hazard study awareness and participation - 1 to 3.
  • SIL determination (risk graph LOPA).
  • BS EN 61511 safety requirements specification.
  • Alarm management and user HMI.
  • Trip / interlock / alarm schedules.
  • User requirement, & functional design spec review.
  • Fire and gas systems.
  • Autoplant 3D Mdlg (equipment, point cloud, clash management).
  • Analysis measurement, building services (lighting, CCTV, etc.), control system selection.
Technical Requirements:
  • Keep up to date with latest industry and functional standards, technology, and norms.
  • Be familiar with all relevant systems.
  • A good understanding of the availability and use of all relevant electronic tools and software.
  • Full awareness and understanding of relevant legislation and standards, and their practical application.
  • Awareness and understanding of all relevant company policies, processes, and procedures.
