Job Title: Street Homelessness Deputy Manager

Salary Range: £44,773 - £54,254 per annum

Permanent Fulltime

Location: SW11 1HR

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Street Homelessness Deputy Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Street Homelessness Service Manager in providing effective support to individuals experiencing street homelessness.

The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of relevant Homelessness and Housing Act legislation and experience of managing teams providing front-line services. They will also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

In addition, they will be able to work effectively as part of the wider management team, fostering a flexible and results-driven culture. The successful candidate will be expected to develop creative and innovative solutions to prevent street homelessness and find suitable housing solutions for individuals with complex support needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to our mission of reducing street homelessness in the borough. As a Street Homelessness Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that individuals receive the necessary support to access sustainable long-term accommodation.

The overall job purpose is:

  1. To assist and support the Street Homelessness Service Manager in the provision, management, development, and support of the Council's Street Homelessness Service.
  2. To manage a team of officers delivering the Council's duties under the Homeless Reduction Act 2017, managing temporary accommodation and sourcing long-term accommodation for individuals at risk of or who have experienced street homelessness.
  3. Responsible for developing creative and innovative solutions to prevent street homelessness and find suitable housing solutions for individuals presenting with multiple disadvantages and often complex support needs.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  1. Detailed knowledge of relevant Homelessness and Housing Act legislation including security of tenure and private tenants' rights.
  2. Experience of managing teams providing a front-line service.
  3. Experience of performance appraisal and staff development.
  4. Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Ability to manage, supervise, and motivate staff.
  6. Ability to work effectively as part of the wider management team, fostering a flexible and results-driven culture.
