Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engineering excellence and supporting our Simpler Solutions HUB.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to Engineering Excellence
    • Define and approve technical scopes
    • Execute assigned scopes of work
    • Provide technical expertise to the business
    • Contribute to business growth
  • Perform Complex Assignments
    • Develop new or improved products, processes, or techniques
    • Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering designs, products, and equipment
    • Use advanced technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables
  • Provide Technical Expertise
    • Provide expert advice on design processes, construction methods, and other technical areas
    • Advise on the development of new engineering methods and participate in short and long-range planning
    • Solve problems requiring application of research data in own and allied professional disciplines
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • ISCED Level 6 Bachelor's (minimum) or Level 7 Master's (preferred) Degree in engineering discipline
    • Chartership, PE Status, or relevant professional license/registration accredited by a recognized body preferred
  • Skills and Experience
    • Technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge
    • Professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation
    • Ability to supervise, manage, motivate, and mentor technical professionals
