About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Carbon Consultant to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Sustainability and Carbon team, you will play a critical role in advising clients on how to decarbonize their activities and increase performance across other areas of sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on carbon, sustainability, and net zero for our existing portfolio of major infrastructure projects and strategic clients.
  • Develop innovative carbon and sustainability strategies, designs, solutions, and management plans.
  • Project manage and coordinate sustainability inputs on major infrastructure projects.
  • Represent the company at external networks and build personal, team, and company reputation.
  • Lead and support bid proposals, authoring submissions and ensuring win themes are retained.
  • Lead the Manchester/Northern team of sustainability and carbon specialists, providing line management duties and supporting team development.

Requirements

  • Education to degree level in an environmental/engineering related discipline and chartered with a recognized professional body.
  • Prior experience and up-to-date knowledge in carbon accounting, decarbonization/net zero roadmaps, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon, sustainability reporting, sustainability strategy, and supply chain engagement.
  • Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills tailored to various audiences, seniorities, and technical competencies.
  • Understanding of UK sustainability and carbon guidance and standards used within infrastructure and corporate reporting, across both public and private sectors.
  • Eagerness to lead, support, and develop direct reports within a team.
