About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Carbon Consultant to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Sustainability and Carbon team, you will be responsible for leading on carbon, sustainability, and net zero initiatives for our existing portfolio of major infrastructure projects and strategic clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative carbon and sustainability strategies, designs, solutions, and management plans.
  • Project manage and coordinate sustainability inputs on major infrastructure projects.
  • Represent the company at external networks and build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead and support bid proposals, ensuring win themes are retained throughout.
  • Lead the Manchester/Northern team of sustainability and carbon specialists, providing line management duties and supporting team development.

Requirements

  • Education to degree level in an environmental or engineering-related discipline, with chartered status with a recognized professional body.
  • Experience in carbon accounting, decarbonization/net zero roadmaps, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon, sustainability reporting, and sustainability strategy.
  • Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills, with ability to tailor content to various audiences and technical competencies.
  • Understanding of UK sustainability and carbon guidance and standards, with experience in infrastructure and corporate reporting.
  • Eagerness to lead, support, and develop direct reports within a team.
