Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Kier Construction is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Liverpool. As a key member of our accomplished team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing project costs from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
  • Oversee and manage procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk, value management, and cost control exercises.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project finances, manage variations, and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Have extensive experience as a quantity surveyor, ideally within a main contracting environment.
  • Possess strong knowledge of construction processes, contract law, and industry regulations.
  • Have a proven track record in cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting.
  • Be proficient in using industry-specific software and tools.
  • Have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have leadership experience and can mentor junior team members.
