Mental Health Support Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Academics Ltd in Bristol. As an aspiring Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Practitioner, you will work closely with students who require additional support due to social, emotional and mental health challenges.

This is an immediate start opportunity for a recent Graduate (Psychology or Criminology) to further their experience in the mental health field. You will gain valuable insight into how trauma manifests in behaviour and the therapeutic practices used to help individuals cope with this.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will provide tailored support to students throughout the school day, enhancing their academic learning and interpersonal skills. You will apply evidence-based therapeutic practices to help each child regulate their emotions and manage mental challenges.

You will collaborate with on-site Psychologists and Therapists to ensure each student receives comprehensive support. This is a long-term temporary position with opportunities for permanence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted learning support to students with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Work with on-site specialists to develop personalized plans for each student
  • Assist class teachers with daily tasks and activities
  • Liaise with parents and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for each student
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in Psychology, Criminology or related field
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
