An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Procurement & Supply Chain department to join the Stores & Materials Management Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in the processing and internal distribution of all inbound deliveries and the provision of a trusted and essential medical consumable stock replenishment system across all departments in the trust.
Main DutiesThe main functions of the role focus on the efficient and timely distribution of inbound deliveries, checking goods for accuracy against orders, localised picking of stock, stock checks on wards of medical consumables, creation of stock orders, and the delivery of items to departments. The role does contain a reasonable amount of physical activity, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

To work as part of a team responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective total supply chain management, receipt, checking, storage, and distribution service to wards and departments across the trust. The position is a customer-facing role requiring a strong customer service work ethic and commitment to being proactive and positive at all times, working in a team to scan, order, and put away medical consumables within clinical environments and maintain stock locations in a tidy and organised manner. In addition, the post requires the individual to perform a range of administrative duties, utilise IT systems, liaise with external suppliers, and maintain effective relationships with clinical staff via face-to-face, email, or telephone interactions.

Essential
- Experience of working in stores/warehousing/retail or supply chain-related environments;
Desirable
- Experience of working within the NHS or other healthcare environments;
- Experience of working in a customer-focused environment;
- Basic experience/knowledge of purchasing and supply chain-related processes/activities/systems;
- Basic experience/knowledge of stock management principles.
Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of education;
Desirable
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English & Maths at grade C;
- NVQ in either customer service, warehousing, or stores/supply-related activity.
