Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to identify and resolve problems, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Process Improvement: Drive improvements across the manufacturing team to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Complete important documentation, including highlighting errors or bad practices and making suggestions for improvements, and lead the progression of documentation through to completion.
  • Procurement and Inventory Management: Utilize external resources to acquire services and components, and generate and complete documentation for procurement and inventory management.
  • Spares Management: Maintain awareness of and control spares in an efficient manner.
  • Accountability and Responsibility: Hold accountability and responsibility for ensuring all personal activities are reliably closed on time, against agreed targets.
  • Maintenance Instructions and Training: Write clear and accurate maintenance instructions, and assist with the organizing and delivering of training and/or instruction of engineering and non-engineering staff.
  • Coverage and Support: Provide coverage for team members, including Technical Specialists and Engineering Coordinators, as defined.
EH&S Responsibilities
  • Emergency Procedures and Safe Systems of Work: Understand emergency procedures and follow safe systems of work at all times.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with EHS and security policies and procedures, rules, signage, and instructions, and conduct timely reporting and support investigation of all accidents, near misses, and breaches of rules.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

We are seeking a multi-skilled engineer with a good understanding of electrical control and automated systems, and a standard of technical skills of HND level or higher. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in working within a manufacturing environment and utilize problem-solving skills, lean philosophies, and a proactive and logical approach to work.
