Chief Procurement Officer

Northstar Travel Group is a leading B2B information and marketing solutions company serving the travel and meetings industry. We are seeking a Chief Buyer to join our team.
Job Summary:The Chief Buyer will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with travel buyers, attending industry events, and managing a database of contacts. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a creative approach to relationship building, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:- Build and maintain a database of travel buyers, including sourcing new leads and updating existing information.
- Attend industry events to build relationships with travel buyers and stay up-to-date on industry trends.
- Manage a network of contacts, including updating and maintaining current information and building new relationships.
- Assist in the development of online communities via social media, including sourcing relevant contacts and adding them to the Northstar database.
- Liaise with sales and marketing departments to provide industry insights and feedback.
- Monitor and report personal performance to line manager.
- Assist in the development of a clear understanding of travel buyers' needs and requirements, as well as the wider business travel industry.
- Fluent English communication, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional telephone skills and strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills.
- Service awareness – Good telephone manner and customer service skill.
- Computer experience with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to quickly grasp the workings of CRM, accounting, and business delivery software applications.
