We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Wakefield, supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
This rewarding opportunity requires an individual with a strong character, able to remain calm under pressure and create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children who display challenging behaviours, ideally in a SEN or SEMH setting.
- Strong character and ability to remain calm under pressure, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Deep understanding and empathy towards diverse pupil backgrounds, with a willingness to adapt and respond to individual needs.
- Preferable: Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
- Transferable experience from roles such as support worker, care homes, young offenders, etc.
Salary & Benefits:
- A competitive salary of £24,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
