Job Description

The Festival is seeking an experienced Festival Operations Director to manage the logistics of sessions and speakers across our Festival programme. This role involves working closely with external production teams, Travel and Accommodation Coordinator, and the venue team to ensure a smooth event.

About the Role:

  • We are looking for someone who is exceptionally organised and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
  • Calm under pressure is essential.
  • A keen attention to detail is required.
  • Good at building relationships and previous festival or production experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Editorial:
  • The Festival Operations Director will support Advisory Committee members and external session producers.
  • Liaise with external producers to keep track of sessions, speakers, and schedule updates.
  • Develop good relationships with committee and producers to check on session progress and speaker bookings.
  • Compile the Festival schedule with the Creative Director.
  • Keep track of representation and inclusion across the Festival programme.
  • Oversee the budget for travel and accommodation.
  • Secure bookings for guest speakers with the Travel and Accommodation Co-ordinator.
  • Create and manage editorial timelines, including announcements and deadlines.
Marketing & PR:
  • Update the Social Media and Content Executive and Festival PR team with confirmed speakers.
  • Ensure editorial information is up to date across the website, programme, and internal working spreadsheets.
Other Projects:
  • Coordinate content for screenings taking place during the TV Festival.
  • Coordinate talent for live Q&A events and manage the event onsite with an external producer.
Onsite – Edinburgh:
  • Coordinate the filming of events.
