About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at H W Wilson Ltd, a leading construction company operating in the Essex and Kent areas. As an Estimator and Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in compiling estimates for renovation, refurbishment, and new build projects for schools, hospitals, and commercial clients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Client Meetings: Meet with clients on site to determine project requirements and specifications.
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed estimates for projects, taking into account various factors such as materials, labor, and timelines.
  • Subcontractor Management: Deal with subcontractor enquiries and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Cost Control: Monitor costs to ensure that contract budgets are met, and prepare contract valuations for interim application payments.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement value engineering solutions to improve project efficiency.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of three years' experience as an Estimator and Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Qualifications: Enthusiastic and qualified individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skills: Ability to work across multiple trades, good time management, and conversant with JCT Contracts and Laxtons/Spons/Wessex pricing guides.
  • Education: Fully conversant with Microsoft Office programs and a professional manner and smart appearance.
