About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.


As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapists to provide holistic care and therapy delivery for children and young people with a range of needs.


You will be responsible for supporting the assessment and treatment of children and young people, working independently as an autonomous practitioner and contributing to the development of therapy programmes.


We are looking for someone with a passion for Occupational Therapy and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage competing priorities.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Providing support to Occupational Therapists in the assessment and treatment of children and young people
  • Working independently as an autonomous practitioner to deliver therapy programmes
  • Conducting assessments, treatment and discharge planning for patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Providing education and training to patients, families and carers
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of patient care

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A Foundation Degree in Clinical Assistant Practice or a related field
  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in an Occupational Therapy setting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and manage competing priorities
