Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and patient individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will provide support and understanding for students with ASD, working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and be prepared for manual handling of pupils.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with a range of needs from PMLD to those who are high functioning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Demonstrate patience and understanding in challenging situations.

Environment:

  • Class size ranges between 8 and 12 students.
  • Between 2 and 4 adults per class, depending upon the needs of pupils and their EHCPs.
  • A positive team of adults who each share a caring attitude.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with ASD in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of de-escalation and calming techniques.
  • A proactive and caring attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
