Residential Children's Services Deputy Manager Position

Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare.
- Work with the Children's Home Manager to ensure the residential home runs smoothly and effectively.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of young people in our care.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, including safeguarding and quality standards.
- Develop and deliver the objectives identified in young people's plans.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of care planning and key worker systems.
- Implement and enforce legislation and company policies on health and safety, fire, and data protection.
- Attend training and present in-house training courses as required.
- Participate in the on-call rota and cover shifts when required.
- Manage the petty cash budget and monitor the home's budget as directed by the Home Manager.
Requirements:
- Good overall standard of education.
- Working towards or hold a Level Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- Up-to-date knowledge of child care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
- Hold a QCF Level qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- Commitment to commence relevant level Diploma within months of appointment and successful completion of probation period, if not already qualified to this level.
- A minimum of years' previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior.
- Experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents, and families.
- Experience of attending reviews, planning meetings, etc.
- Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.
- Well-organized with excellent administration and IT skills.
- Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of childcare and to achieve the best outcomes for young people in their care.
- Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential. Able to supervise, support, and develop Team Leaders & Residential Support Workers to create a cohesive team.
- The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position.
- Must hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence (manual).
