About the Role

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Information Governance and Data Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Information Governance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the Trust's compliance with data protection legislation and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate effective information governance across the Trust, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on how to handle personal information, and train staff on Information Governance, Data Protection, Data Security, and Confidentiality.
  • Support the Head of Information Governance and Assurance in executing their defined duties, and attend the Training Leads Meeting.
  • Act as Secretary to the Information Governance and Security Steering Group (IGSSG).
Requirements
  • NHS experience and a strong understanding of data protection legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate others.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong attention to detail.
