About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Information Governance Officer to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a key member of our Information Governance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Trust's compliance with data protection legislation and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate effective information governance across the Trust to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on how to handle personal information, and train staff on Information Governance, Data Protection, Data Security, and Confidentiality.
  • Support the Head of Information Governance and Assurance in executing their defined duties.
  • Attend the Training Leads Meeting and serve as Secretary to the Information Governance and Security Steering Group (IGSSG).

Requirements
  • Graduate or relevant experience in Information Governance or a related field.
  • NHS experience and knowledge of data protection legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate others.
  • Understanding of Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 2018, and Information Governance legal frameworks.
