Medical Support Professional

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Assistant to join our Nursing Team at Brannam Medical Centre in Barnstaple. The successful candidate will provide clinical support services, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care for patients.
The role involves providing phlebotomy services, setting up ECG machines, preparing examination areas, and assisting GPs with minor operations. Additionally, the Healthcare Assistant will advise patients on health care, minor ailments, and health promotion, and undertake NHS Health checks.
As a member of the Nursing Team, the Healthcare Assistant will share supervisory responsibilities with Practice Nurses, manage treatment rooms, stock control, and ordering of drugs and medical supplies. They will also maintain high standards of tidiness, hygiene, and safety in the use of equipment and areas of work.
The ideal candidate will be qualified as an HCA, have experience working in General Practice, and possess excellent communication skills, time management abilities, and a caring approach. A Disclosure and Barring Service Check will be required for this post.

Person Specification:
- Qualified HCA
- GCSE or equivalent grade A to C in English and Maths

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
