Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Urgent Care Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric assessments and support to the Urgent Care Team, including emergency work at Hillingdon Hospital and 7-day follow-ups.
- Take a lead role in the development of the Tier service (Urgent Care Outreach Service) for Hillingdon.
- Contribute to the monthly senior management meetings for the local CAMHS as well as the crisis pathway.
- Lead on the development of interface working between UCT and other CAMHS sub-teams as well as ACTS (Adolescent Community Treatment Service).
- Provide clinical supervision to psychiatry trainees and specialty doctors, contributing to the work of the UCT on a case-by-case basis as needed.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
- Section 12 MHA Approved.
- Approved Clinician status (or undertaking to obtain this on taking up the post).
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent qualifications/certification.
- Listing on the Specialist Register of the GMC Medical Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or eligible to register within six months of interview date).
- Higher degree or additional qualifications of relevance to working with children and adolescents.
- Experience in paediatrics and experience in Paediatric Liaison.
- Publications in the field of Psychiatry.
- Experience working with different cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Demonstrable ability to relate well to young people and their families.
- Team player to fit in with multi-professional teams.
- Approachable attitude to team members.
- Capacity to prioritize conflicting demands and work flexibly.
- Willingness to represent the service at Trust-wide meetings and in discussions with partner agencies and Commissioners.
- Ability to work and build relationships with agencies and departments.
- Ability to work with Trust management in the spirit of mutually supportive cooperation.
- Ability to travel between locations.
- Ability to cover for absent colleagues when necessary.
