We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Urgent Care Team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric assessments and treatment to young people who present to our Emergency Department and those admitted to paediatric and adult medical wards.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment, where you will have the chance to develop and lead on the development of the Tier service (Urgent Care Outreach Service) for Hillingdon. You will work closely with our Urgent Care Team Lead, other consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric assessments and treatment to young people in the Emergency Department and those admitted to paediatric and adult medical wards.
- Develop and lead on the development of the Tier service (Urgent Care Outreach Service) for Hillingdon.
- Work closely with our Urgent Care Team Lead, other consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
- Participate in the service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
- Attend and participate in internal CPD activities and maintain up-to-date CPD activities.
- Attend monthly consultant meetings and other relevant professional meetings.
- Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Section 12 (2), and AC approval.
- Participate annually in job plan review.
- Work with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services, sharing with other consultant colleagues the medical contribution to management.
We are looking for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the following skills and experience:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practice.
- Section 12 MHA Approved.
- Approved Clinician status (or undertaking to obtain this on taking up the post).
- Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent qualifications/certification.
- Listing on the Specialist Register of the GMC Medical Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or eligible to register within six months of interview date).
