Behavioural Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioural Intervention Specialist to join our primary school in Cheshunt, London. As a member of our SEN team, you will work closely with students who require extra support due to social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs. This full-time, long-term position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
Your role will involve assisting in the classroom, working one-to-one with students, and collaborating with class teachers and other specialists to implement personalised learning plans and behaviour management strategies. You will support students in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing tailored interventions to help them engage with the curriculum in a meaningful way. You will also assist the class teacher in managing the classroom and creating a safe, structured environment.
Requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on SEN or challenging behaviours
• A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with SEMH needs
• Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing ideas and taking direction
