Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Catch 22 is working with a large national Facilities Management organisation to find a skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team in Solihull.

The successful candidate will perform Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance on Plant, Equipment, and Building Services in a well-known high-end retail chain.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks to the client through equipment on site, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, improving performance of machinery, and implementing a preventative maintenance program.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working production environment, liaising with the client on requests for machinery PPMs.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Expertise: Provide expertise to the Maintenance Department, working on Heavy Industrial Machines and Overhead Cranes.
  • Risk Assessments: Write and follow risk assessments and be available to question any issues that arise from them safely and accurately.
  • System Maintenance: Work on Motors, Gearboxes, Valves, encompassing Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical Systems.
  • Mobile Device Management: Use mobile devices to accurately project and complete any works from the CAFM Maintenance System.
  • Building Services Management: Liaise with onsite Site Services to manage any Building Services related issues, responding confidently and accurately as required.
  • Leadership and Overtime: Be the responsible person when required for the department and deputise the Shift Leader during annual leave or sickness. Work overtime as and when the business requires, including nights and weekends.
  • Requirements:
    • Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance.
    • Good multi-skilled ability.
    • PLC Diagnostics / Repair Competencies.
    • NVQ Qualifications to Level 2, Electrical and Mechanical.
    • Ability to supervise contractors.
    • Able to write Risk and Method Statements.
