Farmfoods HGV Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our team at Farmfoods. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining our fleet of vehicles: You will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and testing, to ensure our vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Diagnosing faults: You will use your technical expertise to diagnose faults and identify areas for improvement in our vehicle maintenance processes.
  • Working in a professional and safe manner: You will be expected to work in a safe and professional manner at all times, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: You will need to hold a Level 3 City & Guilds Maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles qualification (or equivalent).
  • Diagnostic equipment and fault tracing: You will need to have experience of using diagnostic equipment and fault tracing techniques to identify and repair faults.
  • MOT preparation: You will need to have experience of preparing vehicles for MOT inspections.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • LOLER experience and tail lift repair: Experience of LOLER inspections and tail lift repair would be desirable.
  • Multi-temperature trailers and fridge repairs: Experience of working with multi-temperature trailers and fridge repairs would be desirable.
  • CE licence: A CE licence would be desirable but is not essential.
