Deal Origination Role

We are seeking a commercially-minded individual to join our M&A origination team at Connect Corporate Finance. The successful candidate will have experience in deal/lead generation and be adept at working at the early stages of deal development as well as supporting pipeline management.

Key Responsibilities

  • The proactive identification and assessment of potential target investment companies.
  • Mapping & researching markets relevant to a client's acquisition criteria.
  • Highlighting potential targets & shareholders and assessing their fit for the client.
  • Preparing M&A prospect reports highlighting key characteristics.
  • Leading the outreach to prospective targets, supporting the lead advisor throughout.
  • Supporting the deal team with research and meeting preparation.
  • Meeting prospective clients / business owners.
  • Maintaining databases to support overall business performance.
  • Involvement in various aspects of a transaction, with extensive interaction with clients.
  • Providing research information to support transaction execution.
  • Preparing presentations for management team meetings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of deal origination/business development is highly desirable.
  • Evidence of academic achievement – a degree is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills including prioritisation, scheduling, and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
