Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Technical Officer to join our multidisciplinary team, providing a national cochlear implant service for profoundly deaf adults and children in Scotland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the assessment of patients before and after cochlear implantation, utilizing software to test listening skills and recording results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assessment of profoundly deaf adults and children before and after cochlear implantation
  • Utilize software to test patient's listening skills and record results
  • Undertake reception area duties and provide technical support for patients
  • Provide a spares and repairs service (by post and on a one-to-one basis)

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Good general education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good hearing and effective listening skills
  • IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working with hearing impaired individuals and their family/carers
