About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Surrey.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is patient, creative, and has a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of children with special educational needs.

No previous experience necessary, but it is desired. As a Special Educational Needs Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist with planning and delivering lessons and activities that are accessible and engaging for students with special educational needs.
  • Help to develop and implement individual health and care plans (EHCPs) and behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
  • Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
  • Provide personal care and support as needed, including toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance.
  • Assist with classroom management and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable, ideally in a school setting.
  • Some knowledge of different types of special educational needs and strategies for supporting students with those needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to take direction from teachers and other senior staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing needs and priorities.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A caring and patient attitude with children and young people.

Salary and Benefits:
