Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our team and shape the development of our HR function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our company culture and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Retention: Develop and implement effective safer recruitment strategies to attract diverse, qualified healthcare candidates, improve and oversee the full hiring process, and develop retention strategies to maintain a skilled workforce.
  • Policy and Procedure Creation: Review and update all necessary HR policies and procedures, ensure compliance with current employment law and sector-specific regulations, and create an employee handbook and other essential HR documentation.
  • Training and Development: Collaborate with the in-house training department to ensure the comprehensive employee development program is running smoothly, implement career progression pathways and succession planning, and identify organisational training needs and source appropriate learning solutions.
  • Performance Management: Manage the welfare checks and staff wellbeing meetings, design and implement a robust performance management system, train managers on effective performance management techniques, and oversee the execution of regular performance reviews.
  • Employee Relations and Culture: Establish effective employee communication channels, manage complex employee relations issues and disciplinary procedures, and champion diversity, equality, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with employment laws and care sector regulations, oversee the DBS check process, and conduct regular HR audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • HR Analytics and Reporting: Implement HR information systems and analytics tools, develop meaningful HR metrics and KPIs, and produce regular reports to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CIPD qualification (level 5 or above preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a senior HR role.
  • Proven experience in setting up HR functions, processes, and policies from scratch.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices in the care sector.
  • Experience with implementing HR information systems and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
