The Working Environment

You will join a recently created entity with ambitious goals and exceptional projects. The entity supports projects localised in the UK, promoting TRACTEBEL as a key player in the UK's nuclear business.

We are part of a consortium designing and detailing reinforced concrete structures for the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant, one of the world's largest construction projects. This project will set the benchmark for similar projects in the UK, such as Sizewell C.

You will be part of a dynamic, highly motivated and multicultural team. This role is an opportunity to develop your professional and personal skills while working on globally recognised projects.

Your Job

As a Civil Engineer and steelworks specialist, you will ensure technical coordination between stakeholders involved in Steelworks design and construction: managing structural integrity assessment activity, dealing with requests from contractors, preparing technical responses, assisting clients, adapting design of steel structure components, coordinating with CAD designers, checking SW deliverables, ensuring coordination with other disciplines, participating in site visits, and being part of an integrated team.

Your Profile

To be successful, you should meet the following requirements:

  • MEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification;
  • Working towards or having chartership status with ICE or IStructE;
  • Experience in Designing seismically classified steelworks structures;
  • Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design is a plus;
  • Experience in nuclear or complex industrial projects;
  • Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and industry Standards (Eurocodes and British Standard);
  • Knowledge of design of anchorages;
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety regulations;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proactive individual who can work collaboratively within a multicultural team;
  • Agile and self-motivated towards improving performance and generating innovative outcomes;
  • Ability to work to deadlines;
