ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to lead our procurement efforts in Cambridge, UK. As the right candidate, you will be responsible for procuring goods and services across the business operations, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Operations. You'll work closely with your dedicated team to optimize spending and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
The Procurement function focuses primarily on indirect spend, supporting various activities across our clients development, publishing, and operational functions. Major spend areas include technology and IP licenses, IT hardware and software, outsourced services, facilities, recruitment, and marketing.
This role requires collaboration with multiple senior internal stakeholders across the business, including the Executive Team, Department Heads, Game Directors, and Budget Holders. You will work hard to optimize spending and manage partners, helping Frontier delight millions of players over many years with our amazing games and content.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Procurement team, including line management of Procurement Specialists.
- Identify and deliver tangible results through cost reduction and service performance.
- Work with the Head of Financial Operations to manage overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the organization.
- Manage supplier onboarding to ensure the most appropriate and competitive suppliers are being used.
- Review and assist with Requests For Proposals (RFPs) to ensure the best outcomes for our procurement efforts.
- Regularly review procedures and processes to ensure control, compliance, and efficiency across the Procurement function.
- Liaise regularly with key company stakeholders to ensure awareness of their product and service needs.
- Provide additional support and expertise to the Procurement Specialists in respect of licensing renewals and managing external talent negotiations.
- Assist with high-value contract renewals, including the review of commercial terms and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Responsible for preparing monthly reports for the Board and other internal stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrable experience and track record in leading successful procurement efforts, preferably with experience in managing a team.
- Broad procurement experience with particular emphasis on indirect procurement.
- CIPS qualified.
- Strong negotiation skills, and able to challenge costs when appropriate.
- Positive and solution-based approach to handling requests and tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, and able to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and vendors.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN THE TECH SECTOR OR GAMES/ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRIES IS A PLUS.
