We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our acute medical services, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute medical conditions.
- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care pathways and protocols.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of our acute medical services, including the implementation of new technologies and innovations.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the out-of-hours service delivery of acute medical take, working collaboratively with our on-call team to ensure seamless patient care.
We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:
- Registration with the GMC and licensure to practice.
- Eligibility for entry onto the GMC Specialist Register in Acute Medicine and General Internal Medicine.
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant higher degree (PhD, MD, MSc) and teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education (desirable).
- Experience of working in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development and improvement of acute medical services.
