About the Role

We are seeking a talented Purchasing Officer to support our client's Supply Chain team in Northumberland. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, building relationships with suppliers, and achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement process from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service
  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet business needs
  • Budget management and cost control
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including purchase orders, invoices, and inventory levels

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
