Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our team as a Consultant in Psychiatry. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our psychiatric services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical services and programs to improve patient outcomes and experience.
  • Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care coordination and patient flow.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our psychiatric services.
  • Provide education and training to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • Additional higher medical/scientific qualification relevant to the specialty (desirable).
  • GMC Specialist Registration or commitment to obtain via CESR application (desirable).
  • S12 registered (desirable).
  • MRCPsych (desirable).
Person Specification:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues, and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to motivate and develop junior medical staff and other MDT members.
  • Ability to balance individual requirements against those of the Directorate and Trust as a whole.
