Job Title: Homelessness Prevention Adviser

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Homelessness Prevention Adviser to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As a key member of our Housing Options and Advice Service, you will play a vital role in providing tailored advice and support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Specialist Advice: Offer expert guidance to customers on a range of housing options, including training, employment, wellbeing, welfare benefits, and debt management.
  • Casework Service: Deliver a specialist casework service to vulnerable residents, including homeless households, those threatened with homelessness, young people, and families.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with the Housing Assessment and Allocation Services to maximize homelessness prevention and the uptake of effective solutions to meet housing needs.
  • Private Sector Initiatives: Collaborate with the Private Sector Initiatives Team to develop and deliver a range of housing options that meet the needs of homeless households and others in housing need.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Good understanding of homelessness prevention, public and private sector options, and related policy initiatives. Strong knowledge of housing options, training, employment, wellbeing, welfare benefits, and debt management.
  • Experience and Abilities: Proven experience in an advice setting, with the ability to work in a pressurized and high-profile environment. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage a varied caseload, including landlord/tenant, mortgage arrears, welfare rights, and homelessness in the public and private sector.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to engage with vulnerable individuals, work on own initiative, and as part of a team to think creatively and solve problems. Excellent customer care skills, with a commitment to achieving customer satisfaction and good value outcomes.
