Job Description Homelessness Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Homelessness Prevention Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of homelessness legislation, case law, and best practices in prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to individuals and families at risk of homelessness, empowering them to make informed decisions about their housing options.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the specific needs of each client and develop personalized action plans.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify and leverage resources that support housing stability.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and ensure they receive equitable access to services and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documenting client interactions and progress toward goals.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to housing and homelessness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
