Job Summary

We are seeking a Purchasing and Logistics Manager to join our team, reporting to the Project Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the supply chain needed for the project, including negotiation with suppliers, attainment of solutions that cater to the project needs while reducing costs if possible. The role will also involve managing all purchasing processes from vendor assessment to payment confirmation, as well as managing logistics, including setting up delivery conditions that suit the project programme and ensuring timely material dispatches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the supply chain needed for the project, including negotiation with suppliers and attainment of solutions that cater to the project needs while reducing costs if possible.
  • Manage all purchasing processes from vendor assessment to payment confirmation.
  • Manage logistics, including setting up delivery conditions that suit the project programme and ensuring timely material dispatches.
  • Coordinate with the Client all logistics requirements.
  • Manage the set budgets for different local supply categories and target cost reduction within each budget to achieve without putting at risk any quality or safety aspect of the material/services.
  • Work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Installation Manager within the project team.

Requirements

  • Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs, and make business improvements.
  • Contract and Supplier Management experience.
  • A strong understanding of procurement practices and processes.
  • Hands-on experience in using MS Office (including being proficient in Excel), databases, and eProcurement systems.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Organisational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Experience in quality control and planning processes of supply chains.
  • Must be flexible, decisive, and proactive problem solver.
  • Must be able to influence internal/external suppliers to achieve fulfilment objectives.
