About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Neurodevelopmental Pathway within the Children and Families Division at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for individuals, groups, and families within the neurodevelopmental pathway.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other professionals and agencies to ensure effective liaison and consultation.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical leadership skills and be involved in clinical projects and pathway development.
  • Participate in facilitated reflective practice groups, CPD events, and team meetings to support professional development and team cohesion.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • HCPC Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and individual and group-based treatment of children, including those with neurodevelopmental differences.
  • Experience of maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, carers, and other professionals.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-doctoral qualification or training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
  • Training in the supervision of doctoral-level trainee psychologists.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity.
  • Experience of teaching, training, and supervision.

  • Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic in outlook, with the ability to set a good example.
  • Ability to manage under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and evidence excellent time management.
