Maintenance Planner / Scheduler Job Description

Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to join our team at the Fife site of a multinational oil and gas corporation. This is a 14-month contract opportunity for a full-time on-site role within an IR35 framework.

Scope of Work:

As the Maintenance Planner / Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in supporting the remote planning team based in India by providing detailed, on-the-ground information. Your primary task will be to ensure that the offsite planning team receives accurate field data to facilitate effective planning and execution of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of site and equipment conditions
  • Provide accurate scope corrections and conduct field scoping with process planners
  • Identify process isolation locations and coordinate necessary arrangements such as scaffolding and insulation
  • Prepare detailed piping isometrics, including dimensions, materials, and support structures
  • Verify existing isometric drawings and highlight any discrepancies or site-specific challenges
  • Ensure accurate documentation through photographs, sketches, and detailed reports
  • Collaborate closely with the BTC Planner to share field data and maintain an efficient workflow
  • Participate in site visits on behalf of the BTC Planner and resolve any technical queries that arise
  • Attend regular Zoom meetings and respond promptly to planning queries or backlog issues

Specific Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in petrochemicals, oil, or heavy industry, with a focus on piping

Strong understanding of technical discussions, cross-sectional equipment drawings, and piping isometrics

Proficient in reading P&IDs and familiar with plant layouts, equipment locations, and functional roles

Basic knowledge of the unit you will be working on (process training provided upon joining)

Proficient in basic computer skills such as MS Office, MS Outlook, etc.

Strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships effectively

This role is ideal for a Maintenance Planner / Scheduler looking to make a significant contribution to the planning process for a high-profile oil and gas project. You'll work closely with both on-site and offsite teams to ensure successful project delivery.
