Unit / Team

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) function is integral to our Information Technology Services, providing essential infrastructure, security, technical services, service management, and support for the Atradius group and its clientele.

Within the CTO, the Infrastructure Operations team is tasked with the management and delivery of the foundational infrastructure components that underpin all our critical applications and systems.

Job description

The Infrastructure Operations Leader is accountable for:

- Comprehensive people management, including establishing objectives, evaluating performance, organizing workloads, and reporting on progress.

- Ensuring that coherent strategies and roadmaps are established for all relevant technologies, maximizing their capabilities and functionalities for optimal value.

- Overseeing third-party vendors for daily service delivery across our on-premise, cloud, and SaaS solutions.

- Managing budget allocations and procurement processes to ensure all financial commitments for supported systems are met.

- Guaranteeing that all systems receive operational support, adhering to Incident and Change SLAs, logging and monitoring, backup and recovery, operational reporting, 24/7 on-call support, operational documentation, and security compliance. Our operations are conducted within a formal ITIL framework, which the Infrastructure Operations Leader is expected to uphold.

- Delivering and managing a technical capability to support both IT and business-oriented projects utilizing both internal and external resources.

The Infrastructure Operations Leader is expected to cultivate strong relationships across various departments and teams within both the CTO and CIO organizations.

Technology Scope

The primary technology domains managed by this role include, at a minimum:

  • Server and storage hardware and operating systems, both on-premise and in the cloud (Linux, AIX, Windows)
  • Citrix environments
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware)
  • Container technology platforms, including OpenShift.
  • Backup, recovery, and archiving technologies.
  • Logging and monitoring, including support for Elastic environments.
  • Automation and Infrastructure as Code
  • Replication technologies, both locally and across global sites.

We operate in a hybrid model, and these technology areas encompass both on-premise and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the Infrastructure Operations team
  • Managing the design, implementation, integration, maintenance, upgrades, and patching of all technologies within scope
  • Supporting backup, data protection, archiving, and disaster recovery efforts, with regular recovery testing to ensure compliance
  • Addressing Requests, Changes, and Incidents logged in our service management system, resolving them within SLA
  • Ensuring that all operational and supporting documentation is produced and regularly updated
  • Continuously identifying opportunities for service enhancements, with a focus on automation.
  • Ensuring that all infrastructure remains fully supportable, with appropriate plans and technologies in place.
  • Preparing regular operational reports on the status and capacity of the infrastructure.
  • Ensuring compliance with Atradius IT Security policies across all systems
  • Collaborating with the Project Management Office to ensure accurate reporting and timelines for infrastructure projects.
  • Ensuring that all audit and compliance requirements are fully satisfied.

Key Job requirements

  • Degree-level education or relevant professional experience
  • Experience in a global commercial enterprise-level organization
  • Experience in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Proven track record in managing highly technical teams
  • Extensive practical experience in managing key technologies within the Infrastructure domain.
  • ITIL certification or relevant experience
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in conflict management and resolution
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
