Children in Care Social Worker

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Children in Care Social Worker to join our team at Bristol City Council. As a key member of our Children in Care Team, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments and reviews to ensure the best interests of children are met.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans to promote the well-being and safety of children.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide a comprehensive support network for children and families.
  • Manage a varied caseload, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely interventions.
  • Prepare and present court reports, providing clear and concise information to inform decision-making.
  • Conduct Section 47 investigations, gathering and analyzing evidence to identify risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with a HCPC registration and degree-level education.
  • Excellent knowledge of therapeutic approaches, relevant legislation, national policy, and initiatives.
  • Experience working with children and families, with a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding principles.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and previous experience within a Children's Safeguarding or Child Protection Team.
