We are seeking a highly skilled Reconciliation Specialist to join our team at Kroo Bank Ltd. As a key member of our Finance and Operations teams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage payment reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive improvements and maintain operational accuracy.
- Balance cash books, general ledgers, and bank accounts on a daily basis, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Reconcile card transaction reports daily, working with relevant Visa files to ensure proper tracking and settlement of all transactions.
- Identify and resolve unreconciled entries by conducting root cause investigations, ensuring any discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Track chargebacks and manage untraceable claims receipts, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal Finance teams and external partners, ensuring open communication and seamless operational execution.
- Deliver high standards of customer service by responding swiftly to requests and inquiries, providing clear and accurate information to external clients.
- Attend regular team meetings, contributing to discussions on process improvements and participating in the implementation of solutions in problem areas.
- Support the development of automated reconciliation processes, leveraging tools and technologies to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
- Proven experience in payment reconciliation within a banking or financial services environment, with specific knowledge of working with VISA transaction files.
- Experience balancing cash books, general ledgers, and performing bank reconciliations on a daily basis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and independently take ownership of your role, driving continuous improvements.
- Experience monitoring chargebacks and managing claims receipts is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Proactive problem solver with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with automation tools or experience with systems that support process automation is a plus.
