Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

The University of Manchester is renowned for its pioneering research, teaching, and social responsibility. As a global institution with over 12,000 staff members and 550,000 alumni from 190 countries, joining our community offers a unique opportunity to be part of a diverse and global network.

We deliver high-quality education that meets world challenges and employability goals, ensuring our students and organisational partners benefit from the best teaching, learning, and technological advances in an engaging, enriching, and impactful way. Through our expansion in flexible and transnational education, we aim to provide transformative learning opportunities regardless of location, pace, or pathway – making a difference locally, nationally, and internationally. Technology continues to revolutionise the way we learn, and with a growing portfolio of flexible learning delivered online, blended, and transnational education, it's an exciting time to join the team.

Our Academic Programme Support Specialists form the Student Recruitment Team within the Marketing and Recruitment Department, working closely with Marketing Officers, Digital Marketing Officer, and Content Assistants. They serve as the primary point of contact for all enquiries related to online and blended learning, shaping prospective students' experience from day one. As an Academic Programme Support Specialist, you will guide individual learners and corporate sponsors through our range of flexible learning options, ensuring they feel supported at every step. You'll collaborate with key stakeholders to align recruitment efforts with business objectives while prioritising the student experience.

With your excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will encourage and proactively nurture qualified prospective students to apply. You will engage with them at all stages through to enrolment, offering guidance and support, and making them feel part of our global community. You'll demonstrate tenacity, working towards commercial targets, and draw on your experience to develop and implement recruitment and conversion campaigns. The ideal candidate will be confident in analysing data, identifying trends, and developing strategies to support student recruitment across our portfolio of courses. You'll be highly motivated with exceptional listening skills, demonstrating confidence in organising and presenting online and in-person events, balancing the demands of multiple prospective students while offering a first-class service.

Possessing a passion for education, you'll want to help people reach their learning goals so they can make a difference and succeed in the world. A salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum reflects the importance of this role in supporting our academic programmes.

We offer a fantastic market-leading pension scheme, excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme, exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays, additional paid closure over the Christmas period, and local and national discounts at a range of major retailers.
